Anti-Styroplastical Vision

Anti-Styroplastical Vision
Queen's Royal College Environmental Club
Let's go back in time and rediscover my passion for the environment. I start with this because in life it is important to remember one's roots, it is the foundation for our achievements. So back in 2013, when I was a form 3 student at Queen's Royal College, Trinidad and Tobago; my Geography teacher, Mr. Peru instilled in my mind a consciousness of the environment. This was the key point in this positive change, that is the formation of the very own Queen's Royal College Environmental Club.
With this milestone, I became the president and throughout my life in this college, as a group we accomplished many things such as recycling and beautification. In particular, the recycling was a little tough with it being compared to garbage, but it became popular when points was given towards the sports day event. Entirely, it was an unbelievable experience and it was sad to leave. However, with a focus on sustainability, I carried forward the baton of environmental consciousness to a younger student and today it is still going strong.

Now, I jump to the present, I am a UWI student and part of the UWI Biological Society. From clean ups to education about endangered species, this group has made an impact on me although it has been a few months. I really like the teamwork and it strengthens my aspirations to be better. One significant activity was at a Balandra Bay clean up which was on the east part of Trinidad. The effort we made came down to 30 bags of garbage!
One more group to mention is CYEN-TT (Caribbean Youth Environment Network Trinidad and Tobago Chapter) which is a regional body that is located around the Caribbean defending our beautiful environment. So by chance through a beach clean up on the south part of the island, I joined them and that has been worthwhile.
